Explores the many facets of Italian culture from the aspect of the individual within a national and global society. The course uses an interdisciplinary approach to discuss how Italian scientific, literary, and cultural figures contributed to the innovations of their time. It also investigates how, through the centuries, certain aspects of Italian culture were exported and appropriated, reshaping the perception of Italy as a cradle of both tradition and innovation.
