Description
This course is intended to introduce students to a broad perspective of the field of forensic psychology and is designed to promote an understanding between psychology and law by showing how psychological research and theory can inform the legal process. This course will examine the roles and responsibilities of forensic psychologists in police work, criminal investigation, eyewitness identification, mental defenses and competency issues, sexual abuse issues, juvenile forensics and death penalty cases. While the course is aimed at BREADTH rather than DEPTH, it does provide many resources and references on each topic enabling students to inquire further into areas of interest.
