Description

This course provides an examination of the principles and theory underlying scientific inquiry and the practices of social science research. The focus is on developing informed consumers of social work research. The course introduces students to critical reading, understanding, and the use of library research and web resources in social work practice, often referred to as evidence-based practice, steps in conducting research, and research efforts toward developing and evaluating social work knowledge and skills.Prerequisite: Open only to Social Work majors and MTH 111 or MTH 113Pre- or corequisite: SWK 305 (if taken as a prerequisite, requires a grade of C or higher)
