Description

The first of two foundation theory courses. The course will provide the student with the theoretical framework needed to develop as a generalist social work practitioner. Students learn to apply key theoretical frameworks to the exploration of societal issues and the impact of racial, ethnic, class, cultural, religious/spiritual, and gender diversity on behavior. The course will examine the reciprocal nature of these interactions on persons, families, social groups, communities, organizations, and institutions.Prerequisite: Open only to Social Work majors; Pre- or corequisite: SWK 305 (if taken as a prerequisite requires a grade of C or higher)
