Description
Cognitive psychology encompasses a broad range of topics related to higher mental processes, including such areas as research methodology, brain physiology, learning, memory, and language. This course is designed as an introduction to the field of study in cognition. Through lectures, demonstrations, and video presentations, several objectives will be met. Students will learn about the important issues and debates in cognitive psychology, how to apply this knowledge to real-world situations, how to critically evaluate research and ongoing debates in cognitive psychology, and to develop critical thinking skills. Readings, writing assignments, and tests will all reflect these objectives.
