Description

An introduction to steps of the research process and to strategies for critically appraising nursing research for evidence-based practice. Research utilization, applications for quality and safe nursing practice, the use of technology in nursing research, and further directions of nursing research will be discussed. Students will read and critique a selection of current published nursing research articles. Emphasis will be on culturally competent clinical nursing research including both quantitative and qualitative designs used with individual, family, and community samples. Prerequisites: NRS 303, NRS 310. Pre- or corequisite: MTH 111 or MTH 113.
