Description
This course is required for teacher certification. The course examines current trends, including state and federal laws and regulations related to special education, in providing special education services to individuals (pre-school, school-age, adult) with developmental disabilities. The approach of the course follows the process of assessment, instructional planning, instruction and evaluation of instruction in each of four areas of development disabilities: sensory disabilities, physical disabilities, communication disabilities and behavioral disabilities.
