Physics BS - Bachelor of Science

Program Description
The Physics program offers an opportunity for students to study astrophysics and cosmology; theoretical and experimental condensed matter physics; theoretical nuclear and high-energy physics; photonics; and nanotechnology. This degree offers a focus in Astrophysics or in Teaching (grades 7-12), andprepares students for graduate school.

Program Goals
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

• Communicate effectively

• Think critically and creatively.

• Demonstrate basic knowledge of Physics and a broad understanding of the physical principles of the universe, and a foundation for further study and/or a career in scientific or engineering field.

• Develop quantitative reasoning skills, physics problem solving skills and respective mathematical techniques.

• Demonstrate a basic knowledge of scientific measurements and instrumentations, data and errors analysis and reporting, including computer based skills.

• Understand the objective of a physics laboratory experiment, properly carry out the experiments, and properly analyze and report the results.
