Chemistry BA - Bachelor of Arts

Program Description
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Chemistry provides greater flexibility in elective coursework and includes fewer mathematics and physical chemistry requirements than the Bachelor of Science (BS) programs, allowing students to tailor the degree to their academic interests and career objectives.

Program Goals
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge (IDK) of the major areas of chemistry: Analytical, Biochemistry, Inorganic, Organic and Physical. Our students should be able to solve scientific problems.

• Develop modern laboratory skills (MLS) needed to solve issues related to biochemistry and chemistry and will be strongly encouraged to participate in research projects with the faculty and attend departmental seminars allowing undergraduates to come into contact with national and international scholars.

• Develop quantitative reasoning skills (QRS) as well as write reports and communicate scientific findings orally. They will apply mathematical concepts to chemical problems and learn to work as part of a problem-solving team.

• Demonstrate proper study procedures and regulations (PR) for the safe handling and use of chemicals, and be schooled to apply ethical and professional considerations to their conduct.
