Catalog Description

English history from the Reformation to the end of the 17th century. The emphasis is on political history and the underlying social and economic forces. Topics generally include Protestantism and the rise of capitalism, origins of the English Revolution, and the background to American colonial and constitutional history. For History majors and minors, this is designated as a pre-1700 history course.
