An introductory laboratory course in physics and its applications in science and society, focused on computational laboratory techniques with emphasis on outstanding contemporary problems and the public interest. Simulations and computations include freefall in viscous media, orbital mechanics, thermodynamic random walks, atmospheric heating, nuclear chain reactions, infectious spread, storm modeling, and big data. Prerequisite: Math Proficiency. Corequisite: PHY 110.
