The first semester covers atomic and molecular structure, chemical bonding, reactions, stoichiometry, and the gaseous, liquid, and solid states of matter. Note: Students are advised that satisfactory completion of one year of high school chemistry or a college-level introductory chemistry course is essential preparation for this course.
